Description
3M Tape Primer 94
Product Description: 3M Tape Primer 94 is designed to enhance the adhesion of 3M tapes to various surfaces including polyethylene, polypropylene, ABS, PET/PBT blends, concrete, wood, glass, metal, and painted metal surfaces.
Surface Preparation: The bonding surface must be clean and dry. Contaminated surfaces should be cleaned with a 50/50 Isopropyl Alcohol and water mixture. Use a clean, lint-free cloth for cleaning.
Application Instructions:
- Shake 3M Primer 94 well before using.
- Apply a thin, uniform coating to the bonding surface using the minimum amount necessary to fully coat the surface.
- Allow 3M Primer 94 to dry thoroughly before applying the tape, typically in 5 minutes at room temperature.
- Ensure the primed surface remains free from contaminants before applying the tape.
- For porous surfaces, two applications of 3M Tape Primer 94 may be required for uniform coverage and good adhesion. Allow the first application to dry before applying the second coat.
- 3M Primer 94 can be applied with a brush or swab.
First Aid Information:
- Eye Contact: Flush eyes with large amounts of water. If symptoms persist, seek medical attention.
- Skin Contact: Immediately flush the skin with a large amount of water.
- Inhalation: Move the person to fresh air. If symptoms develop, seek medical attention.
- If Swallowed: Do not induce vomiting; give the person two glasses of water and seek immediate medical attention.
Clean-Up: 3M Primer 94 can be removed with isopropyl alcohol. Vigorous scrubbing may be required.
Purpose in Mycology: In mycology, 3M Primer 94 is used to prime plastic lids after making holes, ensuring a secure seal when attaching injection ports and air filters. This prevents leakage. If using metal lids for mycology, priming is not essential. The primer, when applied to lids, can be autoclaved.
