Description
Sterile Water or Antibacterial Sterile Water for Mycology – 20ml
Antibacterial 20ml Sterile Water
A mix of antibacterial powder and sterile water designed to improve the chances of making spore syringes without bacterial contamination.
Usage Instructions:
If you have made or purchased a spore print and would like to make a syringe, use this product to minimize bacterial contamination. Please note that this product will not help with other types of contamination, such as pink, black mold, or Trichoderma, as it only has antibacterial properties.
Important Note: You cannot collect spores from the wild and add them directly to this syringe. Wild spores need to be grown on agar and cleaned due to the high concentration of contamination.
Recommended Use:
- Clean a glass container with boiling water in a sterile space, wearing gloves and a mask.
- Pour some spores into the glass container.
- Empty the contents of the syringe and mix the spores thoroughly.
- Draw back all the liquid into the syringe and inoculate your grain bags or jars.
Some customers use this method to empty a spore syringe from a supplier into a clean glass container, then add antibacterial water to make two syringes with antibacterial compounds. This will dilute the spores, potentially increasing the time needed to colonize a grain bag, but it may improve the success rate by warding off bacterial contamination as the antibacterial compound kills bacterial spores or prevents them from germinating.
Sterile Water – 20ml
The use of sterile water is versatile in mycology. For example, it can be used to make spore syringes or added to sterile grains or substrate if moisture is depleted.
- Add to mushroom fruiting blocks to avoid soaking.
- Rehydrate old spores that have difficulty germinating on agar by making a spore syringe.
These products are suitable for advanced users without access to a sterilizer or those who want to experiment. These syringes are not conventional mycology products but offer ingenious solutions.
Safety Warning:
The product comes with a needle. Keep it away from children and take precautions to avoid accidental injury. Use this product only for mycology purposes.
