How to Use the Product:
In mycology, this product is often used to sterilize mushroom bags containing grain spawn or substrate and over Mason jar lids containing liquid culture mix. Simply place the items to be sterilized in the autoclave with the tape on them. Steam or moisture will not affect the tape’s integrity.
Proper Sterilization Technique:
- Allow the sterilizer to reach 15 psi.
- Release the pressure by opening the valve until it reaches zero to remove any air pockets that may be present in the autoclave.
- Set a timer according to the required sterilization period.
- Maintain a constant temperature of 121 degrees Celsius for about 20-25 minutes. The tape will change from yellow to black stripes, indicating proper sterilization.
