Supercharged Liquid Culture Mix with Peptone, Dextrose, and Light Malt Extract (DLME)
Will give you a liquid culture mix a sugar content of around 2%.
Expand your liquid culture with our Supercharged Mix containing Peptone, Dextrose, and Light Malt Extract. This mix includes Corn Dextrose, Light Malt Extract, and Premium Bacteriological Peptone, offering a superior alternative to using Honey, Karo, or Glucose Syrup. It promotes extremely thick mycelium growth.

Water Ratios:
- For every 10g of Supercharged Peptone DLME, add 500ml of water
- 100g can make up to 5 liters of liquid cultures
- 250g can make up to 12.5 liters of liquid cultures
- A little sedimentation is normal and will dissipate as mycelium consumes the sugar.
Instructions:
- Sterilization: The mix needs to be sterilized before use. Sterilize in an autoclave at 15 psi for 45 minutes, or in a microwave by bringing it to a boil 3-5 times. Ensure a marble or stirrer is inside the jar before sterilizing your liquid culture medium.
- Cooling: Once sterilization is complete, cool your jar until it reaches room temperature.
- Inoculation: Inoculate the jar with clean culture and keep it in a dark space for 1-2 weeks for complete colonization. This must be done with extreme care in front of a laminar flow hood or still air box.
- Stirring: Stir the jar using a magnetic stirrer for 5 minutes, or swirl with a marble 5-10 times daily to break up the mycelium and promote growth. Be careful not to break your glass mason jars when swirling with a marble.
Caution: Properly sterilize this product as it is highly nutritious and may contaminate if not sterilized correctly. Some sedimentation might be present at the bottom of the jar after sterilization, which is normal.
Usage:
Our Liquid Culture Mix with Peptone DLME-Supercharge can be used in various cultivation techniques. Once prepared, you can inject the liquid culture into sterilized grain jars/bags, agar Petri dishes, or another jar containing LC mix to create more liquid culture. For aggressive strains like Oysters and Reishi, you can even use it to colonize substrates directly.
