Rubber Self Healing Injection port and Syringe Filter PTFE for Mycology
YOUR SET INCLUDES:
- 20x 20mm Rubber Stopper Self Healing Injection Ports Jar.
- 20x 13mm 0.22-micron PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) syringe and air exchange filter (Colour may change depending on availability)- PTFE handles autoclave better than NYLON or any other materials.Syringe filter are Hydrophobic.
Please note that you will need to make two different size holes in your lids:
- Injection port(Grey) : 12 mm hole
- Syringe filter: 4 mm hole
The syringe filter has two sides to it. A thick protruding bit stays on top of the lid as per the pictures, and one that is smaller goes through the lid.
Please note you need to use
high temp RTV silicon with this product that needs to be purchased separately, and we do not sell it. Once you have made the lids, they need to dry/cure for at least 24 hours before they are ready to be used in the sterilizer.
DESCRIPTION:
Widely used for liquid culture, substrate jars, and Grain spawn jars. These items are autoclave-safe and have low to no risk of contamination. Stick your ports to the specified holes with a high temp gasket maker or red RTV silicone.
The injection port allows the needle to pass through multiple times while self-healing. The micron air filter has a vent of .22 microns, allowing the appropriate exchange of gases whilst remaining sterile. Once the adhesive is applied, it withstands autoclave temperatures of over 120 Celsius (250F) at 15psi for extended periods (recommended three hours maximum).
